Referral Process
If you are employed by a school, social services, social inclusion team or any other relevant educational body and wish to refer a student to YDC, then please contact our head office or request for a referral form to be sent to you by email.<
Students are chosen on a first come first serve basis.
Once we receive a referral, a decision is made as to whether the young referred person is suitable or not for the service that we offer. If the young person is found to be suitable, YDC will conduct an interview with the young persons parent, guardian or a representative responsible adult.
Based on the results of the interview, the young person will or will not be offered a place. Notification that the young person has been accepted on the YDC scheme will be sent to parent, the school and any other organisation involved with the young person.
After notification, the young person should then be invited into the office to complete an initial assessment and formally agree to begin the programme. All networks involved would then be notified by letter stating which YDC site the young person will attend, their starting date timetable for the term.
