Our Students
YDC offers training opportunities and alternative education to young people who are either excluded from school or on the verge of exclusion. We work with primary and secondary schools, however the majority of our students are in year 10 and 11. Our programmes aim to re-engage the young people back into school, further education or into a work related environment.
Each student has an internal review every half-term involving YDC, the referring bodies, parents/guardians and any other relevant parties.
YDC students have the opportunity to study for qualifications including GCSE English and Mathematics, ASDAN or OCN.
YDC has a strict policy in regard to the conduct of our students.
YDC are experienced in working with young people with:
- Behavioural Issues
- EBD
- Attention Seeking Behaviour
- Aggressive Tendencies
- Short Attention Span
- Low Self-Esteem/Low Self-Confidence
- ADHD
- Truancy/Attendance Issues
- Poor Communication Skills
- Mild Forms of Disability
- Social Services Involvement
- Asperger's Syndrome
- Low Literacy Levels
- Poor Classroom Contribution
