YDC ProfileIntroduction Youth Diversity Challenge (YDC) is a registered provider (number: 22389) of supplementary education to schools and other educational services, for example, colleges, PRU’s and SEN’s, that have issues around the disaffection of young people between the ages of 13 to 19.
Youth Diversity Challenge is also a registered GCSE centre (number: 14325) that covers English, maths and art. All our staff are fully CRB checked.
YDC also runs other accredited programmes that can be tailored to the individual needs of the young person to gain an accredited outcome.
Our programme was set up in 2003 to exclusively work with young people who were drifting away from mainstream education because of a number of reasons listed below: - Non-attenders
- Behavioural issues
- Crime/drugs issues
- Low self-esteem
- Poor literacy/numeracy
- Family issues (e.g. abuse)
The YDC team is made up of qualified teachers and teaching assistants and behavioural mentors that can support the client group mentioned above to re-engage them back into mainstream education or sign-posted onto further training or work related projects.
The Youth Diversity Challenge (YDC) programme has a proven track record of success working with disaffected young people in an educational setting which is structured but less formal than mainstream educational establishment.
Our strategies focus on specific areas of personal, emotional and academic development which underpins Youth Diversity Challenge unique delivery model which serve to break down difficult and complex barriers in relation to disaffected young people.
Whilst the YDC programme is not a quick fix solution we are able to develop working partnerships which build professional relationships with our client group - out of that comes learning.
The YDC concept is so successful we are able to work in partnership with local educational authorities and children services departments across the UK.
YDC are now undertaking projects from statutory educational bodies and local authorities who are involved with mainly disaffected young people to provide supplementary programmes which is designed to innovate, educate and motivate the client group which ultimately sign post them back into mainstream education or onto further education.
